Vote for Morley Freake, Presidential Candidate for CUPE 1505

Morley Freake has been nominated as a presidential candidate for CUPE local 1505.

Morley Freake moved to Fort McMurray in 2005 with his family. He has been with the 1505 local from 2005 to 2007 and then from 2009 to present.  Morley has spent most of his career in IT but has also worked in Human Resources in recruitment, onboarding and training from 2007 to 2009.  He also spent some time overseas teaching English as a Second Language.

Mr. Freake worked in a sawmill during summers while earning his Bachelors of Science from Memorial University of Newfoundland.  After having an accident while at the mill he understands the need for a safe workplace and the protection that being in a union offers employees.  Morley has been a part of the RMWB Occupational Health and Safety committee and a floor warden in IT for many years.

Morley currently serves on two local boards, the Wheaton Penny Child Care Centre and the Family Christian Centre.  He hopes to bring a passion for safety, strong leadership and a desire to deal with critical issues and make improvements from a fresh perspective to CUPE 1505.
